SOCIETY'S SCARS

The roads trail on
Into finite mega-ribbons,
Solid slabs of slate and tar
Connecting coast to coast,
Mountains to valleys,
Marring nature's naive beauty
With the pox marks
Of the horseless carriage!

Fresh air mingling
With Dioxin's stench,
As smoke stacks ooze
Industrial by products
Evaporating to form
Bio-carbonized clouds,
Drenching the sweet earth
With acid rain's bitterness!

Amidst glorious spectacular
Sea and mountain landscapes,
From desert's barren splendor
To forest's fertile abundance,
Scattered by the wind,
Blending with leaves and herbs.
Society's leftovers are free
To roam the earth forever,
Decaying unnatural rot
Into soil's sentient salts.
