LIFE IN THE BODY
Life flows on perpetually,
From the first sperm contact
To that last desperate gasp!
Bursting forth being,
Life energy generates birthing spasms,
Pushing out the corporal vehicle.
Awareness of this moment is imperceptibly absolute,
When new life discovers itself,
"I think, I am this body!"
Pulses pumping, lungs sucking,
Stomach churning: patterns of spatial cognizance,
emotional attachments,
"I breath, I eat, I excrete, I develop, I grow!"
Learning, play, gruff reality, throw, bang, burp:
Maximum brain overload, language, motor skills, bonding,
"I walk, I fall, I ride my bike to school, I dance"
Exploration, adventure, ingenuous sensation:
Creative primal energy naively assails life!
"I'll bridge the ocean, I'll swim to Africa"
Transmutation, strange pangs, desires, emotions:
Hormones rush, as the body feels puberty's upheaval!
"These feelings, emotions-WOW! I discover sex!"
Self-reliance, role playing, emotions stabilize:
Adulthood- dazzles identity, provokes self reliance
"I need to find myself and realize purpose in life"
Responsibilities, obligations, relationships, status,
Economic and social demands for to succeed are overwhelming!
"Life just passed me by. I am not a kid anymore."
Elderly, worn bodily mechanism, aching,
Adjusting metabolism: hours and years blur in emotional tension.
"Nobody wants me; what am I good for?"
The body feels the life force waning, passing outward:
As the last surge of life energy leaves worn flesh,
Death thrusts our conscious being into everything!
Life passes naturally, focusing time's illusion:
An experience etched soul- to be recycled,
Mystically realizes the end- in cosmic purpose!
