THE JOURNEY OF THE SPIRIT
The spirt flows though many states and existences
Creating for itself divergent turmoil;
Running the gauntlet of deep sensation- deep emotion,
Logical paradox, contemplative thought.
From innocent gleeful play,
To grating emotional intensity,
The spirt soars to clear celestial heights
And falls to gross mater's gloom drenched pits.
The spirit brings forth frolic,
Role play, jest, mischievous innovations:
A child's inventive discovery,
Learning imaginative creative games.
The spirit is stymied by complexities and hormones,
Balancing peer pressure with expectations;
Adolescence striving to impress its uniqueness
To counter cultural conformity and change.
The spirit?s innocent abandonment is tamed to sharp realities
Relationships, work, business;
Expanding and contacting as it deals with multiple challenges,
Adaptation and conflict.
We suffer the pangs of a rotting body
As age deteriorates all living flesh;
Pain and disease is accepted as a means
Of spiritual cleansing and redemption.
The spirit accepts living's intensity
Until it is released from its physical vessel:
Searching for Divinity, the immortal spirit
Will race into eternity.
