LAW, ETHICS AND MORALITY

                                            I Introduction

Animal desires, fluid emotions,
Harsh survival, Turbulent whims and flaming instincts
Predominate physical life in whirling chaotic wrath.

Shinning with laughter,
Language, and social control
Humanity struggles to improve its condition.

Law engraves in stone
Enforced by physical punishment,
Ethics are voluntary, relative,
Floating on circumstance.
Morality is engraved in consciousness,
Mandated by Karma's relentless force.

Laws are derived from rules and traditions,
Ethic from circumstance and reason,
Morality relies on universal wisdom
Law is contrived,
Ethics contemplated,
Morality centered in well being.

                                            II LAW

Blind as a bat- Law judges and punishes us all!
Weighed down by tons of ponderous volumes,
Having a total disregard for Morals or Ethics-
Caring only for its essential solemn doctrine.
Inspired by pluralities and compromise,
Precedents, arguments, circling in concentric turmoil,
Scribed into a rigorous conglomeration of heavy verbiage.
Sometimes colored by feeling and prejudice,
Law imposes its will with a wrathful sword!
Trying to bend our spirit to conform
To its patterns and standards,
As individual- we try to stay out of Jail!

                                            III Ethics

Nothing is concrete:
Beliefs and convictions modulate.
Lies, theft, and murder can be rationalized
By various situations.
Personal ethical perceptions and values are defined
By background and experience
Creating a mish-mash of ideas
Only precisely focused though individual perspective;
What we think is right!
Boundaries are laid out
According to perceptions of correctness.
The id is harnessed by reasons.

                                            IV Morals

Action that is a part of essential Being-
Brought to fruition by the weight and consistency of its essence.
Behavior is not contemplated or examined but is for the good of all.
Rooted in universal truth and the desire to do right-
In its most elementary nature and most rudimentary form.
Right is believed to be self-evidentiary,
Self-fulfilling, ultimate, non-fleeting and not variable.

Lies deceives, theft deprive, murder kills,
All that matters is the fruit of an action.
Morality glides on the wind of the spirit,
Pouring forth from the soul.
